Not an overnight success story
11+
years building this

I started DJing in 2014. There was no secret manager, no magic viral moment and definitely no clean little blueprint telling me what to do next.

I learned by taking the gigs, playing the empty rooms, figuring out what made people come back, learning how to sell myself without sounding desperate, building systems when things got too busy, and continuing to show up when the “wins” were not winning yet.

You see the stages. You do not always see the systems that made me ready when the stages finally called.

Those systems helped turn a side hustle into a full-time career that now includes weddings, clubs, corporate events, sports, radio, touring opportunities, brand work, content creation and my own event concepts.

This is not “how to DJ.” This is the part nobody really teaches you: how to build a DJ career people can actually book, remember and pay for.

WHAT'S
ACTUALLY
INSIDE.

Not 97 pages of motivational filler. These are the business decisions, scripts, systems and lessons I actually use.

01 / Build a Brand People Remember

Stop looking like every other DJ.

How I built DJ Mischievous into an actual identity instead of just a logo and a flyer.

  • Brand voice + personality
  • Visual consistency without being boring
  • Why “Unapologetically You” works
  • Making your niche bigger than a genre
Branding
02 / Pricing Without Panicking

Charge like a business.

The mindset and structure behind booking fees, day-of balances, extra hours and finally raising your rates.

  • Stop calling everything a “deposit”
  • Protecting the date
  • When to quote hourly vs package pricing
  • Knowing when you are undercharging
Money
03 / The Booking System

Inquiry → booked → paid.

How I keep clients moving instead of letting inquiries die in DMs and texts.

  • Inquiry questions that actually matter
  • Quotes, contracts + booking fees
  • Follow-up without begging
  • Client communication boundaries
Operations
04 / Weddings Are a System

Do not wing the wedding.

My approach to timelines, ceremony audio, cocktail hour, dinner, reception flow and keeping couples from feeling overwhelmed.

  • What I collect before the event
  • Timeline + music planning workflow
  • MC prep and pronunciations
  • Handling planners + special moments
Weddings
05 / Social Media That Has a Job

Post for a reason.

I do not just post flyers. Content should build trust, show the room, create proof and make somebody picture you at their event.

  • Recaps vs announcements vs personality
  • Hooks that feel human
  • Why the crowd shot matters
  • Turning one gig into multiple pieces of content
Content
06 / Bigger Rooms

Make yourself easy to say yes to.

How I approach artists, venues, radio, talent buyers and brands without sending the same copy-and-paste “put me on” message.

  • Outreach that gives a reason
  • Building receipts before asking
  • Your EPK + social proof
  • Relationships > random asks
Growth
07 / Read the Room. Run the Business.

The gig is only half the job.

The same flexibility I use behind the decks is how I built the business: prepare hard, pay attention, adjust fast.

  • Professionalism without losing personality
  • Being memorable to venues + clients
  • What to systemize first
  • Building multiple income lanes

ON YOUTUBE.

I learned it by doing the work in different rooms, with different clients, different budgets and different expectations.

[ 03 / Is This You? ]

THIS IS
FOR THE DJ
WHO'S READY.

You do not need a huge following. You need to stop treating your career like something that only becomes real after somebody discovers you.

01

You can DJ. Now what?

You know how to play, but bookings feel random and your business has no real system.

02

Your brand is giving “available DJ.”

You want people to remember YOU, not just that you own speakers and Serato.

03

You want this to pay you.

You are ready to think beyond the next $200 gig and build something that can actually support your life.

[ FAQ ]

BEFORE
YOU ASK.

Is this a “how to DJ” course?

No. This is about building the career around the DJ skill: brand, pricing, bookings, client experience, content and growth.

Is this only for wedding DJs?

No. Weddings are one part of my business. The playbook pulls from clubs, private events, corporate work, radio, touring opportunities, brand work and weddings.

What level DJ is this for?

Best for DJs who already know the basics of DJing and want to get more intentional about turning it into a business or full-time career.

Do I get templates?

Yes. The bonus section is designed to give you starting language for inquiries, quotes, booking confirmations, outreach and client check-ins.

Will this guarantee me gigs?

No. Nobody can promise that. What this gives you is a much stronger system for presenting yourself, handling opportunities and building a business that is ready when opportunities come.
